Meet the SRAA OFICERS

Our president is Dianna Z. Neary, a self-taught artist.  With over twenty-five years experience as a commercial illustrator, she spent ten years at the Diamond Department Store in Charleston, West Virginia and freelanced for many boutiques, printing companies and advertising agencies there. Her illustration range includes: machinery, cartooning, graphic art and fashion illustrations, as well as silk screening and calligraphy.  She designed and illustrated the West Virginia jigsaw puzzle, an exclusive for the Diamond Department store and distributed by the Great American Puzzle Factory in 1979.  Her pen and ink drawings illustrate the pages within the book, One Room School Games, Children’s Games of Yesteryear, by Maxine Sewell Scarbro and still sold by Barnes & Noble.

Paula Knauber is our vice president for the 2007-2008 term.  Paula retired from the United States Air Force with twenty years of service in 2004 and relocated to Pace. She has been an active member of our organization since joining and especially enjoys serving at Art Affair each year. Paula is married to Tim, who is himself retired from the United States Navy.  Any type
of fiber art is Paula's passion, especially quilting!  However she loves to try new mediums and especially enjoys our guest artists.
Our treasurer, Jan Dempsey, has resided in East Milton since 1973.  She and her husband, Bill, own and operate Dempsey's Antiques.  Jan expresses her art with gourd creations, quilting and jewelry making.  She serves on our Scholarship Committee and handles education grants for us through our Art Benefactors program.  Jan also serves as one of our representatives to other art organizations.

Jeanie Vaughan is the Recording Secretary for the 2007-2008 term. Jeanie serves on the Scholarship, Teacher Grant, Hospitality & Art Show Committees.  She creates sterling silver jewelry pieces and unique gourds. Jeanie has been married for 27 years, has  three children (age 25 in Air Force, age 21 UTexas graduate, and age17 senior in high school). You can see some of Jeanie's creations at the Dragonfly Gallery in Milton.

The SRAA correspondence secretary is Suzanne Borges.  An advanced amateur photographer, Suzanne is a past president of SRAA and the Wide Angle Photo Club.  She chairs the Power of Photography show for 2007 and 2008, which is a benefit art show for ARC Gateway in Pensacola.  A teacher for 30 years, Suzanne also writes a biweekly column for the Pensacola News Journal called "Life 101."  She and her husband, David, live in Allentown, north of Milton.
